Alternative Press Index (1991-) 1991- The Alternative Press Index is a biannual* subject index to over 300 alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines. Librarians consider the API to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to alternative sources of information available today. Each article is listed and cross-referenced by subject. Every citation contains the title, author and information about the publication in which it is located. * The API switched from quarterly to biannual publication in Volume 38.

Applied Science & Technology Abstracts 1983- Leads users to the latest findings in every area of science, engineering, and technology. Covers trade and industrial publications, journals issued by professional and technical societies, and specialized subject periodicals.
Art Abstracts 1984- A dependable, comprehensive, and authoritative information source about the world of the arts from architecture to video. Covers over 400 leading art publications from around the world and serves as a comprehensive record of art reproductions that appear in the indexed publications.
ArticleFirst 1990- ArticleFirst describes items listed on the table of contents page of individual issues of more than 13,000 journals. Each record describes one article, news story, letter, or other item from a journal. Most records can provide a list of libraries that hold the journal title.
Biography Index 1984- Cites more than 2,700 periodicals and 1,800 books, including individual and collective biographies, as well as juvenile literature.
Biological & Agricultural Index 1983- Provides information from groundwater pollution to genetic engineering and covers the entire range of sciences related to biology and agriculture. Indexes 226 key periodicals in the life sciences and agriculture. Includes current book reviews.
Book Review Digest 1983- Provides instant access to book reviews from nearly 100 American and Canadian periodicals. Some 7,000 adult and children's books are reviewed and added to the list every year. Concise critical evaluations are culled from 95 selected journals in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, as well as library review media.
CAMIO CAMIO - OCLC's Catalog of Art Museum Images Online - is a growing online collection documenting works of art from around the world, representing the collections of prominent museums. CAMIO highlights the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, and covering the complete range of expressive forms.

CAMIO is licensed for use by students, faculty, and researchers at subscribing institutions. Works of art may be used for educational and research purposes during the term of the subscription, if they are properly credited. Images may not be published or otherwise distributed.
Chicano Database 1967- Includes over 36,000 bibliographic citations about the Chicano (Mexican-American) experience. Portions of the database have been published as the Chicano Periodical Index (six volumes in hard copy in SSHR), the Chicano Index, Arte Chicano: An Annotated Bibliography of Chicano Art, 1965-1981 (paper copy available in Art Library), the Chicano Anthology Index, and the Chicana Studies Index.
ClasePeriodica Clase: 1975 to present; Periodica: 1978 to present CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities.

PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology.

Offers access to more than 300,000 bibliographic citations from documents published in 2,600 scholarly journals published in the Spanish, Portuguese, French and English languages. Contains information from articles, essays, book reviews, monographs, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews and brief notes published in journals edited in 24 different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from publications that focus on Pan-American issues.
Education Abstracts 1983- Provides citations for every article of at least one column in length taken from more than 700 English-language periodicals and yearbooks in the field of education. Covers every age and sector of the educational community from preschool through college. Includes book review citations. MSU Libraries have a related print publication: Education Index located in the Main Library at Z5813 .E23 and covering 1929-1982.
ERIC (on FirstSearch) 1966- A U.S. national bibliographic database covering the journal and research literature in the field of education. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, ERIC blends two files: Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE), covering the published journal literature from over 775 periodicals and Resources in Education (RIE), covering other research document literature, such as conference papers, books, theses, and research reports. Essay and General Literature Index 1985- Cites essays and articles contained in collections of essays and other works published in the United States, Great Britain and Canada.

More than 300 volumes and 20 annual or serial publications indexed annually.

Includes full bibliographic information for the titles in which the collected works are found.

Focuses on humanities and social sciences literature.

Subject coverage includes cartography, climatology, energy, environment, geomorphology, hydrology, photogrammetry, sedimentology, geochemistry, geophysics, paleontology, petrology, volcanology, and much more.
GPO Monthly Catalog (on FirstSearch) 1976- Contains more than 450,000 records for documents on all subjects of interest to the U.S. government. It covers all types of U.S. government documents, including: Congressional reports, hearings, debates, and records; judiciary materials; documents issued by executive departments (Defense, State, Labor, Office of the President, etc.) Each record contains a bibliographic citation.
Hand Press Book Database The Hand Press Books Database includes over 660,000 records for European printing of the hand-press period from the Consortium of European Research Libraries (CERL), whose 48 members represent national and university libraries in 25 countries, including North American libraries. This is the first and only online union catalog for European hand press books produced c1455 to 1830.

The Consortium seeks to share resources and expertise between research libraries with a view to improving access to, as well as exploitation and preservation of the European printed heritage in the hand-press period (up to c. 1830). The Consortium was formed in 1992 on the initiative of research libraries in many European countries and legally came into being in June 1994.

History of Science, Technology, and Medicine (HSTM) This database covers all aspects of the history of science, technology, and medicine. Includes international material selected from periodicals since 1975. It reflects the influences of these fields on society and culture from prehistory to the present. Includes records of journal articles, conference proceedings, books, dissertations, serials, maps and other materials.
Humanities Abstracts 1984- Index to articles in over 400 humanities periodicals in archaeology, art, classics, film, folklore, journalism, linguistics, music, the performing arts, philosophy, religion, world history, and world literature.
Index to Legal Periodicals & Books 1981- Provides thorough, reliable indexing of over 570 journals, yearbooks, law reviews, and bar association publications. Covers all areas of jurisprudence, including court decisions, legislation, and original scholarship.
Journal of Nursing Education Full text beginning with v. 35, 1996.
Library Literature 1984- The definitive index in the library and information science fields. Indexes some 220 periodicals and more than 600 monographs per year.
MEDLINE (on FirstSearch) 1965- The National Library of Medicine's bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. Contains bibliographic citations with author abstracts (since 1975) from over 3,800 international biomedical journals published in the US and 70 other countries.
Newspaper Abstracts 1989- A complete business and general reference resource. Indexes and abstracts more than 50 U.S. and regional newspapers, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and USA Today. The Wall Street Journal (Eastern edition) is indexed beginning January 1, 1990.
PapersFirst 1993- PapersFirst contains citations to over 580,000 papers included in every congress, conference, exposition, workshop, symposium, and meeting received at The British Library from October 1993 to the present.
ProceedingsFirst 1993- Over 19,000 citations to every congress, symposium, conference, exposition, workshop and meeting received at The British Library from October 1993 to the present.
Readers' Guide Abstracts 1983- Popular periodicals published in the U.S. and Canada. Includes current events and news, fine arts, fashion, education, business, sports, health and nutrition, consumer affairs, and others.Unlimited users

Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies 1986- The Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies contains citations to material on the social sciences and humanities published in Russia and Eastern Europe as well as western publications on Slavic studies topics. Material includes books, manuscripts, dissertations, and articles from more than 10,000 periodicals. The Russian Academy of Sciences Bibliographies covers from 1986 to the present.
SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs Covers art and rare book sales/auction catalogs. Provides information to auction sales catalogs from all major North American and European auction houses as well as many private sales. Information on art objects, rare books, history of collecting and comtemporary and historical market needs. Includes catalogs for sales from the late sixteenth century to scheduled auctions not yet held. Records include the dates and places of sales, the auction houses, sellers, institutional holdings, and titles of works.
Social Sciences Abstracts 1983- Covers some 350 core periodicals in the fields of anthropology, economics, geography, law and criminology, political science, social work, sociology, and international relations.
Wilson Business Abstracts 1990- Provides complete, accurate access to 345 of today's leading English­language business magazines. Topics include accounting, personnel, and small business. Abstracts are included.
WilsonSelectPlus 1994- WilsonSelect (H.W. Wilson's Select Full Text) is a collection of indexed and abstracted records with accompanying full text from over 400 periodicals from H.W. Wilson's General Science Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, Readers' Guide Abstracts and Wilson Business Abstracts.
World Almanac and Book of Facts 1996 The World Almanac is a single source reference database that covers arts and entertainment, U.S. cities and states, people in the news, the nations of the world, sports, the environment, vital statistics, science and technology, computers, taxes and much more.
WorldCat (OCLC) WorldCat is the OCLC Online Union Catalog, containing more than 35 million records describing items owned by MSU Libraries and libraries around the world; each record indicates library holdings. It is produced by the OCLC Online Computer Library Center and describes books, manuscripts, computer data files, maps, computer programs, musical scores, films and slides, newspapers, journals, sound recordings magazines, and videotapes.
